$5000 Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship

The Pathway to Teacher Education Scholarship (PTES) is a $5,000 annual scholarship that recognizes exceptional Grade 12 students planning to enter the field of teaching. The PTES will be awarded to 20 graduating students intending to enter a BC faculty of education program. This new scholarship will support outstanding students in pursuing a career path in teaching. Scholarship winners will be awarded a $5,000 voucher to redeem upon entrance to one of BC’s faculty of education programs. Applications at http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/awards/

ALL EXPENSES PAID TRIP - ADVENTURES IN TECHNOLOGY

Sponsored by the five Rotary Clubs of Saskatoon and Rotaract, this exciting, educational experience will provide students with an intense four and a half days focused on enhancing their awareness and understanding of technology, the many ways it affects our lives and the opportunities it holds for tomorrow. Students will have an opportunity to explore advanced technology, research, development and applications.  During their visit, participants will be able to open the doors to an exciting array of some of Canada’s finest corporations and research facilities.   Participants will have a unique opportunity to meet their peers from other parts of Canada.  Accommodation, meals and full supervision is provided through the Rotary Clubs of Saskatoon.

$28000 Terry Fox Humanitarian Award

Terry Fox Humanitarian Awards are open to GRADS pursuing post secondary education.The value of the award is $7000/year.

CRITERIA:

  • Involvement in voluntary humanitarian work.
  • Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
  • Undergraduates studying towards their first university degree or diploma at a Canadian post-secondary institution in Canada.
  • Maintain a satisfactory academic standing and continued involvement in voluntary humanitarian and community work.

$5000 Top 20 Under 20 Scholarship

Top 20 under 20™ applicants will meet the following eligibility requirements:
  • A young person who has demonstrated significant amounts of Innovation, Leadership and Achievements in their life, school, community, province or country
     
  • Under the age of 20 (as of December 31, 2013)
     
  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residence status
     
  • Desire to pursue some form of education or training, whether that be Canadian secondary, post-secondary or training education (high school or equivalent, CEGEP, GED, college, university, training or apprenticeship programs)
     
  • All nominations must include a letter of endorsement by a sponsor. The sponsor must speak to the applicant's role and innovative project.

$65,000 WESTERN UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS



President’s Entrance Scholarships
5 at $65,000 ($20,000 for year one, $15,000 annually for years two to four) and; Up to 15 at $50,000 ($10,000 annually, plus $10,000 towards first year residence)


Beryl Ivey Continuing Entrance Award
ONE at $64,000; payable $16,000 per academic year for a period of four years.


International Students President's Entrance Scholarships
3 at $50,000 ($10,000 annually, plus $10,000 towards first year residence costs) 


Faculty Entrance Scholarships
Up to 15 at $30,000 ($6,000 annually, plus $6,000 towards first year residence) 


National Scholarship Study Abroad Awards
Up to 30 at $2,500 for up to 4 months (one term), $5,000 for over 4 months (more than one term) 


National Merit Awards
Those students who are interviewed for a National Scholarship but not offered a scholarship and accepting offer of admission to main campus will receive a one-year National Merit Award valued at $2,000. Recipients will also retain eligibility for an Admission Scholarship ranging in value from $1,000 to $10,000.



Eligibility

National Scholarship applicants must be Canadian Citizens or a Permanent Resident of Canada. All applicants must have obtained a minimum overall academic average of 90% on all Grade 12 courses

$500 LOGIN EDUCATION INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP


The Login Education Scholarship Award is awarded to two, well-rounded International graduating students who meet the following criteria
  • have been enrolled in a Burnaby School District school for 2 years – grades 11 and 12
  • have maintained a good academic standing and demonstrated a strong work ethic
  • have demonstrated good citizenship and strong leadership in school and the community
  • have participated in community service and volunteer work in the school and the community
Applicants are to submit a 250 – 300 word essay describing the following:
  • your educational experience with Burnaby School District and what you learned through this experience and
  • why you consider yourself to be a good candidate for this award
