BCIT offers up to 60 Entrance Awards that recognize academic and non-academic achievements of students entering an eligible full-time BCIT program, including part-time and full-time Bachelor's degrees.

BCIT President's Entrance Awards

BCIT President's Entrance Awards are available to students that have graduated from a B.C. Secondary School during the period September 2017 to June 2018. The selection of candidates is based on an evaluation of academic achievement, participation and contribution to school activities, leadership and citizenship as well as volunteer and/or community service. The BCIT President's Entrance Award can be applied to any full-time BCIT credential program.

$1000 DOTEASY BRIGHT STARS SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship is open to students in their final year of high school.  There are 
3 prizes of up to $1000 for post-secondary tuition, plus 1 year of services to make
 your own website

You can apply by sending an email to scholarship@doteasy.com. In your email, please:

1)Tell us your name, current school, and intended field of study in the body of the email:
Computer Science, IT, IAT, Graphic Design, Business, or Other (If other, briefly 
explain why having a website would benefit you).

2)Attach a 300-500 word essay describing your career goals, and why having an
 online presence would help you on your journey.

3)Attach one letter of reference from a teacher, principal, employer or community leader

4)Scholarship winners will also receive 1-year of website hosting and domain name 
services. Please tell us which Doteasy services (hosting and/or add-ons) would best
 suit you and your needs. (Note that this answer will not be considered as part of the

$28,000 TERRY FOX HUMANITARIAN AWARDS

ELIGIBILITY:

• In good academic standing.
• Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
• Students graduating from secondary (high) school or students completing their
• Involved in voluntary humanitarian activities (for which they have not been compensated).
• Planning to or are already studying towards their first university degree or diploma 
• at a Canadian post-secondary institution

Terry Fox Award Recipients are eligible to receive the Award until they graduate with 
their first university degree or diploma (for a maximum of four years), provided they 
maintain satisfactory academic standing and a standard of humanitarian work and 
personal conduct which, in the opinion of the Board of Directors, justifies the award.

Applicants must provide three (3) referees and upload online an (un)official transcript
detailing the applicant’s last two years of schooling (official transcripts, sealed by the
issuing institution will be requested from applicants who are selected for an interview). 
Referees will be emailed a link requesting they complete an online Referee Form on
behalf of the applicant.

The online application, including all the accompanying documents, must be 
completed and submitted online by the deadline – before midnight. Applications and 
all documentation (including Referee Forms and unofficial transcripts) received after 
that date will not be considered, nor will they be held over for the next year.

In cases where the applicant is unable to complete an online application due to
extenuating circumstances, all materials (including completed application, referee forms, 
and the transcript) must be mailed together (in one envelope) and sent directly to our 
office (and postmarked by the deadline). Applications with missing materials will be 
considered incomplete and automatically disqualified. Application materials will not be
returned to students.

$35 000 CMOLIK FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Cmolik Foundation awards scholarships to deserving 
BC students who have faced adversity but through hard 
work and determination have been successful in 
graduating from secondary school. SEE Ms.Morabito if 
you would like to be considered by February 8.

ELIGIBILITY:

• Be a BC resident for at least 7 years,
• Be in Grade 12 or a recent secondary school graduate,
• Have demonstrated financial need,
• Have faced adversity,
• Plan to be a full-time student,
• Be ineligible for the BC Tuition Waiver Program (for former youth in care),
• Use funding for a post-secondary institution, trade or college, and
• Be endorsed by their school principal.

UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Eligibility (Basic Eligibility): 

Must be a Canadian secondary school student intending to begin university the following academic year; Canadian citizen, permanent resident or protected person who demonstrates superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional achievement in a broad context.

Description of Award: 

Students who have been nominated (SEE MS. MORABITO BY OCT 22 TO BE NOMINATED) by their schools as National Book Award recipients may submit applications to the National Scholarship Program. In addition, students who identify themselves as meeting the scholarship criteria are invited to apply directly for the National Scholarship, without having been nominated for the Book Award. The National Scholarship rewards original, creative and committed Canadian secondary school students. These are students who demonstrate superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional achievement in a broad context. They excel in academic pursuits, demonstrate enthusiasm for intellectual exploration and have a strong involvement in the lives of their schools and communities. Each year approximately ten students are named National Scholars (winners) and ten are named Arbor Scholars (runners-up).

Value/Amount: 

The National Scholarship covers tuition, incidental and residence fees for up to four years of study. Finalists not designated as National Scholars receive Arbor Scholarships at a value of $7,500 in the first year and $1,500 per year for three additional years of undergraduate study. The scholarship is tenable only at the University of Toronto.
