$2500 Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC Scholarship

The APEG Foundation offers several entry scholarships to British Columbia high school graduates entering engineering or earth science programs at the University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University, British Columbia Institute of Technology and the University of Northern British Columbia. The entry scholarships are awarded on the basis of a combination of factors, including academic standing, extracurricular activities, financial need and a student statement.

$2000 Jack Farley Youth Sports Achievement Awards.

Every year the BC Sports Hall of Fame awards two Jack Farley Youth Sports Achievement Awards. These scholarships are awarded to one outstanding male and one outstanding female amateur athlete graduating from a BC secondary school.These students will excel in a particular sport and exemplify the values, commitment and contribution to the community held by Jack Farley, an honoured member of the BC Sports Hall of Fame and Museum. Winners will receive $2,000, which is to be applied to their education at a post-secondary institution here in British Columbia. Applicants must be graduating from grade 12 and demonstrate that they plan to attend a registered college or university in British Columbia within 12 months of graduation. $1500 CONFRATELLANZA ITALO-CANADESE SOCIETY SCHOLARSHIP

The Confratellanza Italo-Canadese Society is again offering several $1,500 scholarships to eligible candidates for this year.  The scholarships are open to this year's graduating secondary school students planning to enrol in a post-secondary academic degree program.  To be eligible for this scholarship candidates must:

1) be of Italian origin i.e. as having at least one parent or grandparent of direct Italian descent
2) be living in a city or municipality within the 21-member GVRD
3) have an academic standing sufficient to qualify for entry into the post-secondary institution of their choice.

$3000 BCIT PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS SCHOLARSHIP


ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
• You must have applied for admission to BCIT and have been assigned a BCIT ID
• You must be a citizen or permanent residents of Canada
• You must commence your BCIT full-time studies before March 31, 2015
• A recipient must remain registered as a full-time student during the academic period for
  which an award is given
• A recipient must maintain satisfactory academic standing during the academic period for 
  which an award is given
• BCIT Pathway to Success Awards are not deferrable and must be accepted in the year in
   which they are awarded.

SELECTION CRITERIA
The student must demonstrate leadership skills and/or additional responsibilities such as:
• taken leadership training or courses
• or volunteered in the community
• or work experience
• or captain/president of sports team or group
• or is involved in extracurricular activities
• or play a major role in supporting their family, financially or otherwise.

LETTER OF INTENT
The student must write a letter of intent which outlines:
• their career goals
• why they have chosen that particular career
• that they have a good understanding of the job and the skills required
• why they want to be a BCIT student
• outlines their leadership skills and/or additional responsibilities such as family.
 
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Every application must include the following information:
• Completed application form with BCIT ID
• Completed student letter of intent
