$1000 Community Service Dogwood Scholarship

Are you going into a service oriented career ( early child hood education, medical assitant, nursing, police officer,  paramedic, massage therapist etc.) $1000 can be yours if you have :

1) taken 2 or more of these leadership or service-focused courses courses: Senior Leadership,  PE
    Leadership, Peer Tutoring, First Aid?
2) had significant participation and leadership in a service-oriented club (GAAP, SWAT, GREEN CLUB,
    Amnesty International, GSA etc.)
3) a minimum of 100 hours of community or school service/volunteer activity per year in grades 10 through
    12 that is beyond classwork and course requirements. Work Experience hours , if directly related to a
     service-related career that requires post secodnary traning can be incldued. (MUST BE
     DOCUMENTED IN A LETTER that outlines dates, description of duties and hours volunteered)
4) a C+ or better average
5) Canadian Citizenship

The ALEXANDRA FOUNDATION FOR NEIGHBOURHOOD HOUSES provides $1500 to deserving students who wish to pursue post secondary training in the artistic, academic or technical field.

CRITERIA: plan to pursue studies in a certificate or degree program at the college or university level and must be significantly involved in their community in a volunteer capacity.
