$70,000 TD LEADERSHIP YOUNG CANADIAN LEADERS SCHOLARSHIP

Have you made a difference in your community? Then this is the scholarship for you! Students must demonstrate great leadership in one of the following areas: environment (GREEN CLUB), promotion of Social justice (SWATor GSA) , and fight against child poverty (GAAP) to name a few. The scholarship is $10,000/year for tuition and $7500 for living expenses/year.It also includes paid summer employment and Mentorship opportunities.

CRITERIA:
  • demonstrate oustanding leadership in the community
  • Obtain a 75% min overall average in the most recent full school year
  • Three copies of an essay of up to 600 words describing your leadership
  • Three letters of support from the community groups, that you have been involved in
  • A letter of recommendation from a teacher that knows you really well
  • A trascript of your academic records

$5000 HORATIO ALGER JIM PATTISON SCHOLARSHIP


The Horatio Alger Jim Pattison Alberta and British Columbia Scholarship Programs will award $5,000 scholarships to 40 students (20 per province) each year. The application process will begin October 1, 2013, and is open to students in their last year of high school who will attend a post-secondary institution in the fall of 2014. Scholarships will be awarded to students who have critical financial need($50,000 family income/year or less) and have demonstrated integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity as well as strength of character, a good academic record 60% GPA or better, a commitment to pursue post-secondary education, and a desire to contribute to society.

$50,000 U of Toronto Scholarship

Eligible candidates demonstrate superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional achievement in a broad context. They excel in academic pursuits, demonstrate enthusiasm for intellectual exploration and have a strong involvement in the lives of their schools and communities.This Scholarship covers tuition and fees for 4 years of study, and support for residence the first year and an additional renewable monetary award.

$80, 000 Loran Scholarship to any University

There are over 30 Loran awards valuing up to $80,000 awarded across Canada. Potential candidates must exhibit strong academic performance (85% average or better) and moral character, genuine commitment to serving others, ability to manage and lead others, determination, independent thinking and a willingness to take meaningful risks.
