$1000 Scholarship and broadcasting opportunity!

Ever dreamed about being a reporter? Or, chasing a story and broadcasting it on TV, radio, online or in print? Well, here’s your chance! News Day in BC is back for a fifth year and it’s better than ever. You might even see your story on CBC News Network. The project is open to all high school students from grades 10-12 from across Metro Vancouver. You can meet CBC and Vancouver Sun personalities, learn more about the exciting world of journalism and find out how to be a News Day student reporter. After the workshop, come back and audition for a spot on this year’s News Day team. Pitch your story to compete for one of this year’s coveted spots. Find out if you have what it takes to make it to the Final 30. All 30 finalists will receive a $1000 scholarship for post secondary studies, courtesy of Sylvan Learning. Sign up for a journalism workshop held in the Alice MacKay Room at the Central Branch of the Vancouver Public Library, in downtown Vancouver, on February 2nd & 3rd, 2013. Register now at www.cbc.ca/bc/newsday to be a part of News Day! GOOD LUCK!
